Newcomers are often shy or hesitant before coming to a new church, or to visit any body of people they do not know. At UUCDC, we want you to feel comfortable about who we are and what we believe, about our philosophy and our welcoming attitude. We want you to feel at home, and hope the following information will encourage you to visit us.

Frequently Asked Questions

This page answers most of the questions newcomers might have about who we are. Answers to other questions can be found throughout the site. If you are not sure where to look, explore using the menu bars, or use the search box in the upper right corner.

What is Unitarian Universalism?

The page link above provides general information on our denomination. A few times each year, we provide a course called UU101, which allows people to take a more personalized journey though the history of Unitarian Universalism. (It could be subtitled "Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Unitarian Universalism and Didn't Know How to Ask," but then what would the subtitle be for UU201?) It is a course of study designed for adults to learn more about this most unique faith.

What Do You Believe?

Are you not sure what church or organization best suits your personal beliefs, or those of a loved one? There is a website called Beliefnet.com that attempts to guide people towards a faith or a denomination that might speak to them. Go to that site, take their quiz, see what they suggest for you.

Sunday Service Information

The page link above will provide with you information on a typical Sunday service here at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Delaware County. It generally consists of music and a message, sharing of joys and concerns and quiet time to contemplate, in an atmosphere where kindred spirits embark on a spiritual journey. After our services, we enjoy coffee and fellowship where people stop by and chat and get to know each other. We can also have a fine cup of fair trade coffee.

Please feel free to contact our church office with further questions.

We hope you will visit us soon!
