Music in our Services

Our music program is made possible by many dedicated volunteers offering their talents and energy, for which the music staff is truly grateful. If you've been coming to UUCDC for any length of time, you've noticed we have an inspiring depth and breadth of musical talent among our membership.

Musical Opportunities

Church Services

Our Sunday morning worship services always include opportunities for church members and friends to share their musical talents by singing or playing their instruments. Music Associate Bob Rowland and guest musicians, provide music for most 9:15 services and the off-chorus Sundays. Our Music Director coordinates music for our worship services. Please fill out the online musician registration if you would like to provide music for a worship service.

UUCDC Chorus

The UUCDC Chorus serves to enhance the worship service and message on most Sundays.  The Chorus rehearses weekly on Thursday nights from 7:30 – 9:00 pm and sings at about two church services a month, usually at 11:15. Twice a year, the chorus presents a special musical church service. Singers of high school age or older are welcome to come and participate in chorus. If you would like further information about chorus, please contact our Music Director.

Other Music Performance Opportunities at UUCDC

UUCDC provides a venue for many other musical events involving friends and members. These include the fall Food Bank Benefit Concert, Concerts for the Community, the YUCKI Coffee House, Cabarets, the Music OUT Loud Concerts presented by UUCDC Interweave, and theater productions presented by Thespis. Please look at information provided on the church website and in the monthly Focus newsletter for information about these events and points of contact to express interest. If you have an idea about a musical activity that you would like to see at UUCDC, contact one of the music staff or the church office and let us know.
