Youth Programs at UUCDC - Everyone's Welcome!

UUCDC has worked hard over the years to expand our youth programs. This year we are happy to offer all of our youth, both middle school and high school, quality Sunday morning and evening programming. All of our youth programs welcome newcomers. Come check things out and hang out for a while!
The Youth Programs Team works with the DLRE to make decisions regarding current and future programming for the pre-youth and youth including the implementation of our Middle School Activity Group, Coming of Age, and the YUCKI Senior High Youth Group scheduling and activities listed below.

Course Offerings
2013/2014

All children and youth attending programs at UUCDC must be registered.  Registration fee is $25/youth, but will not exceed $50 per family.  Scholarships are available.   Please let us know any pertinent information about your youth especially food allergies, bee sting allergies, or important medical info when you register.  Let us know how you can help support your youth’s religious education!

Multigenerational Worship (9:15) provides an opportunity for adults and children to worship together for the entire Sunday service. These worship experiences are interactive, entertaining, and spiritual.

Grade 9
Coming of Age
Sunday Evenings 6-8:30 pm

Coming of Age is a modern Unitarian Universalist Rite of Passage that is challenging and transformative for many and marks our 9th grader's transition from childhood on to youth. Experiences include articulating their UU identity, class discussion sessions, adult mentorship, fundraising, a service project, overnight retreats, a Boston Heritage Trip, skill building, high drama ritual, and celebration events. Take a look at the calendar for this year. There is a tuition fee for this program. Partial scholarships are available.

COA enrollment remains open until Thanksgiving. After that, new and visiting 9th graders are invited to join the 7th grade Neighboring Faiths class on Sunday mornings, or the Senior High Youth Program, Sunday evenings.

Grades 10-12
Y.U.C.K.I. (Young Unitarians Combining Knowledge and Information)
Sunday Evenings 6-8:30 pm

Our Y.U.C.K.I. Senior High Youth Group programming centers on the five components of the YRUU (Young Religious Unitarian Universalists) youth groups, including social action, leadership, community building, learning and worship. This autonomous group plans most of their own program for the year incorporating larger LRE themes in creative and meaningful ways that speak to them. Each year they prepare and present an annual Worship Service in the spring. Programming includes off-site retreats, trips, fundraising, an annual YUCKI Coffee House, service projects and other special events. Our youth also participate in the Joseph Priestly District (JPD) Regional Youth Conferences (CONs) year round. Fees are required for some activities. Partial scholarships are available.
