Membership
How do I become a member?
The Unitarian Universalist Church of Delaware County is an association whose members wish to explore the ethical, moral and religious dimensions of life without the constraints of either dogma or creed. The members are dedicated to the principles of freedom of belief, the use of reason, justice, democracy and the interdependence of all existence. Membership in the church is open to anyone age 16 or older who is in sympathy with its purposes and principles as governed by its bylaws. Coming of Age Affirmants are eligible for full membership at any age. Membership may be withdrawn at any time by written notification.
If you have been attending UUCDC on a regular basis and are considering membership, we welcome you! The formal act of becoming a UUCDC member consists of signing the membership book in the presence of the minister or an officer of the church. While the act of joining is simple, we take church membership very seriously—something that merits a thoughtful consideration of its obligations and responsibilities. Members are expected to be involved in the church program, to attend worship services and congregational meetings as they are able, and to contribute financially to the church to the extent of their ability.
If you are interested in becoming a member of our church community, please talk with a church member at our visitor's table or you may set up an appointment to meet with our ministers to learn more about the process.
