Singer Karen Rodriguez will bring her Latin jazz band to UUCDC as part of the "Jazz in Media" series. Her band includes Suzzette Ortiz on piano, and Tony Cimorosion on bass.
Karen and her band have been performing since 2000, specializing in the Salsa, Cha-Cha, Bolero, Bossa Nova, Mambo, Rumba, Cuban, Latin/Jazz, Guaracha, and Guajira. Previous to her creating her own band, Karen performed with the Tito Fraticelli Latin band, Abuid Troche ensemble, Enrique Haneine band, Jerry Topinka Jazz Band and the Tony Cimorosi Fusion band. She is also a guest singer for the Suzzette Ortiz Latin Jazz Ensemble. Karen lives in Bristol Borough, Bucks County.
Jazz in Media concerts take place on the 3rd Wednesday of every month through May 2012. Hosted by singer Denise Montana, these concerts will benefit Jazz Bridge, a non-profit organization supporting musicians and singers in times of need. Tickets are $10.00 / $5.00 for students.
