"Theology of Caregiving" - Heather Petit
Being responsible for the care of anyone is a spiritual journey - whether we are caring for a child, a relative, a friend, or even ourselves. Our theologies and beliefs inform how we encounter this part of our lives, and affect how other people experience us. What does it mean to have a theology of caregiving, and how can we be more intentional in caring as embodied expression, whatever form of care we offer?
Heather Petit is a seminarian and Aspirant to Unitarian Universalist ministry. She is attending both Starr King School for the Ministry and Lancaster Theological Seminary. Heather is a lifelong UU and UU preacher's kid, with degrees in international relations and cultural geography. As a senior consultant in IT, she helps people transform their work lives by addressing both process and data issues in the workplace. She lives in Delaware with her husband and four children.
Remember to bring back a stone from your summer travels, activities, or home to participate in the "Blessing of the Stones" ritual at Ingathering.
