This Sunday and Events at UUCDC

Feb. 20 - Rev. Peter to Host ‘Death Cafe’ on Feb. 20 in Media

You’re invited to the “Delco Death Cafe” on Tuesday, Feb. 20, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the 320 Market, 211 W. State St., Media. Death is a subject that no one likes to talk about. Let's get together and break the taboo in a casual environment.  This is an opportunity to talk about any aspect of death that interests, intrigues or scares you.  If you're curious about the origin of the Death Cafe idea, go to www.deathcafe.com. If you want to know more about this event, email me at delcodeathcafe320@gmail.com.

Feb. 25 Sermon - "Successive Failure"

As we wrap up our month-long examination of "Perseverance," this Sunday Rev. Peter and Worship Associate Josie Cressler will reflect on giving up and giving in. How do we know when it is time to let go, and what do we learn from not getting what we want?

March 21 - Demand a Ban on Assault Weapons

Join others in the church, along with our friends from Delco United for Sensible Gun Policy and Heeding God’s Call, to engage on March 21, when we will occupy Senator Pat Toomey’s Philadelphia office and demand that he cosponsor an assault weapons ban.

That is the action that I invite you to join if you are able, and I ask you to invite your friends to join you in this act of resistance. And if you’re not able to be there on March 21st, I can predict with absolute, horrific certainty, that there will be more vigils for more victims. There will be more protests. There will be more acts of resistance, because I have no doubt there will be more carnage and more killings in the weeks to come.
